The standard course for "taster" sessions in air rifle shooting is the NSRA Youth Proficiency Scheme Tutor's Diploma. This equips candidates to run have-a-go sessions in air rifle shooting and also to take young people for introduction to shooting over a longer period (as in Scouts or other uniformed groups). It is the standard qualification used by members of the British Activity Holiday Association (BAHA) and also written into Scout POR's (operating procedures).

The course takes place at Pecks Drove campsite at Spalding and all equipment and documentation are included in the course fee. Course participants will need to bring their lunch/ hot drinks and catering is not provided. Coffee and tea may be available. Camping can be provided if necessary at a small additional cost.

All members who are aged 17 and over on the day of assessment are eligible to take part. 


The course timetable runs from 9-5pm each day.

How to book

Complete the booking form if you wish to attend and send to YPS, Lincolnshire Scouts, 5 Rutland Close, South Witham, Grantham, Lincolnshire, NG33 5QA with the full course fee to secure your place and full payment will need to be received by 1st March 2018 to secure your place. Cheques should be payable to Lincolnshire Scout County.

Places will be secured on a first paid basis and only confirmed when the course fee is received. Course fees are not refundable if you are unable to attend the course.​
