First Response Revalidation
Following on from the Prevention of Future Deaths report, The Scout Association has highlighted some objectives to work towards. One of these is the consistency of external certificates (e.g. First Aid at Work [FAW]) being used to validate the Scout First Response criteria.
As a result some individuals who have used external certificates may be asked to revalidate their First Response Module. As a County we are working closely to minimise the number of people that this may impact.
We will be contacting these people over the coming weeks. Below is a summary of what you will be asked to do if you are affected.
Option 1:
If your external certificate covers all of the below then please pass on a copy of your External Course certificate and syllabus as proof, and this is your revalidation completed.
- Child CPR
- Fractures & Sprains
- Head Injury
- Dental Incidents
- Asthma
- Anaphylaxis
- Heart Attack
- Stroke
- Diabetes
- Sepsis
- Meningitis
Option 2: If option 1 does not apply and you have completed the Hampshire Scouts EFAW/FAW Conversion course, then please forward a copy of your conversion certificate, and this is your revalidation completed. The link for this is

Option 3: If neither option 1 or option 2 apply, then please complete the Hampshire Scouts EFAW/FAW Conversion course; it usually takes around 30 minutes to complete. Once complete, forward your conversion certificate, and this is your revalidation completed.
