There will be 3 sessions lasting about 2 hours on 17,24 September and 1 October followed by a practical session on 25 October (subject to Covid19 restrictions and green status). Start time is 7.15pm for the zoom sessions.
All sessions must be attended to gain the qualification. The practical session is subject to Covid19 restrictions and will be done as soon as possible. We will also run practical sessions on different dates and across Lincolnshire.
HQ have said that First aid training can be delivered virtually whilst face to face training is not an option, however this will not cover the full syllabus as there are some aspects which are required to be demonstrated by the learner. An attendance will be maintained locally so that when we reach readiness level Green, those requiring it can do the top up and complete their course.
As an interim measure, Scouts are accepting the virtual first response as acceptable in order for people to complete their Wood Badge (by updating module 10 as complete). However, once face to face training restarts, you will need to complete any elements not covered virtually in order to fully complete. At this point your Compass record can be updated for first aid ongoing learning.
There is a small charge of £5 for this course to cover the cost of the first response book from HQ.
