A message to Lincolnshire Scouts members from Paula Evans, Regional Commissioner, East Midlands

As many of you may be aware we have recently completed the search for a new County Commissioner for Lincolnshire and following a robust search and interview process I am pleased to announce that Amy Gilbert has been appointed as the new County Commissioner. The appointment will be effective from 1st November 2020, this will give Amy the opportunity to work alongside Ellie between now and then.

For those of you who do not know Amy, she has been involved in Scouting as an adult with roles in the Beaver and Cub section, ADC Beavers and more recently Deputy District Commissioner in Lincoln district. She is also a manager in her professional life having worked in the probation service and led and managed change within the sector and now works as a Regional director in the private healthcare sector. Through her own family she still has active links to the sections.

I am sure that you will all support Amy in her new role as she continues to lead the development of Lincolnshire with the county and district teams to continue to grow and develop in line with the Scout Association vision and offer the opportunity to give skills for life to as many young people as possible.

I would also like to thank Ellie Compton for her incredible efforts over the last two years as the County Commissioner. I know that she will continue to support Lincolnshire Scouting in one role or another. In the short term she will work with Amy during this transition period.

I look forward to seeing Lincolnshire Scouting develop and continue to flourish.

Paula
